Naan But You is Astera Asia’s first self-initiated film project; produced independently from concept to film festival release.
Uniting People Through Story
The story is centered around a special connection between two otherwise strangers and the power of food to bring people together. This film reminds us that the most unforgettable connections we have are often the most unexpected. We’ve all had them, regardless of country, language, culture, ethnicity, place, or time. Whether it’s a moment or a lifetime, we can’t help but walk away changed.
International Reception
Naan But You is a project that was made by the international community for the international community. The production team included talent from Canada, the Philippines, Singapore, and Hong Kong. From there, it spent over a year in the international film festival circuit, receiving awards and recognition at 32 festivals across North America, Europe, and Asia.
US Premier Screening
Naan But You’s premier screening was at the Oregon Short Film Festival in the winter of 2021 as a drive-in to accommodate COVID restrictions. This was an especially memorable way to introduce our film to the world.
